Klaus Kinski returns in this semi-sequel to Werner Herzog's 1979 Nosferatu! This time around, the prince of darkness is summoned 200 years later by the heir of his true love during a séance. Leaving nothing in his wake, he journeys homebound to Venice in order to either reunite with the exotically beautiful Barbara De Rossi or yearn for death in utter turmoil within his own curse as he reflects; "Time has no meaning in a life that never ends." A great cast including Christopher Plummer in the Van Helsing role as Professor Paris Catalano and the hypocritical religious priest Don Alvise played superbly by Donald Pleasance. Despite the original director Mario Caiano being fired and replaced by producer Augusto Caminito (with directorial help from Luigi Cozzi, Maurizio Lucidi and Klaus Kinski) there is a great cast and some incredibly atmospheric cinematography by Tonino Nardi. Also, there is a rousing soundtrack by Luigi Ceccarelli contributing to one of the better European vampire films from the 80's! Not to mention the erotically charged (and frequently nude) beauty of both Barbara De Rossi and Anne Knecht!
