In view of the global reputation of Ancient Egyptian culture and antiquities, it's perhaps surprising that such subject matter has seldom been represented in Egyptian fantasy flicks. One prominent exception is this beautifully photographed tragicomedy about an ancient princess whose spirit is unleashed in the present day by excavation work at an archaeological site. Eventually the pharaohs of old find a way to call her back to her time (via the television set!), leaving her newfound love the possessor of the only 'Dear John' letter to have been penned in hieroglyphics for millennia.
