A documentary shot at the end of pornographer Joe Sarnos's life, which reveals his attempt to make one last film, as well as his relationship with his wife, Peggy. It's a love story about legendary sexploitation director Joe Sarno, "The Ingmar Bergman of 42nd Street", and his loyal wife and collaborator Peggy - their place in sex film history, life between New York and Sweden, and their struggle to make one last erotic film. A funny and touching portrait of a unique couple who has followed their passion in life - no matter the cost!

The film follows The Sarnos for a year, as 88-year old Joe is struggling to get a new film project off the ground, a female-centered softcore film in his old style. Following in Joe and Peggy's footsteps we are taken on an exciting and often hilarious journey, between a wintery Manhattan and the couple's summer retreat in Sweden.

This is intercut with a look back on the dramatic events that shaped Joe and Peggy's lives, and through their very personal story we chronicle how sexploitation evolved in to hardcore, and Joe's significant place in this history as an erotic "auteur" whose ambitions as a filmmaker often surpassed the needs of the genre he was working in.

Are you sure that you have the right information for this movie? IMDB lists the running time at 1 hour 40 minutes. There is another movie on Sarnos called The Sexual Obsession of Joe Sarno (2011) which runs 58 minutes

    NLZ says:

Hello, yes it's the right doc. I think the running time given by IMDB is wrong. Just found and added a "longer" version. In fact I couldn't find any real significant change. The shorter version is shorter because of the 25fps, accelerated end credits and the edit is slightly different (no censorship, just some changes in the interviews).

Amazon also has the film listed on their website for 1 hour and 40 minutes.

    ratman says:

    Sorry, made a mistake... it's 82 minutes.
